Before you start thinking that e-cell is just another committee formed in college, hold on, if you are just considered about how prestigious the organization is; with whom e-cell is associated; let me tell you that. Its a world of branding and I wouldn’t blame you for thinking on those lines.

So, I would like to tell you a bit about National Entrepreneurship Network(NEN) today.

NEN’s RICH ACADEMIC AND PHILANTHROPIC FOUNDATION:

NEN was co-founded by IIT Bombay; IIM Ahmedabad; BITS, Pilani; SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai; Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore.

It is primarily supported by the Wadhwani Foundation, a philanthropic initiative of Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, Chairman of the Symphony Technology Group, and has offices in Bangalore and Mumbai.

WHAT IS NEN?

NEN is a non-profit organization which was formed in 2003 just for helping and inspiring entrepreneurs. It provides critical support to start-ups and early-stage entrepreneurs through high-impact entrepreneurship education; access to mentors and experts; fast-track access to incubation and funding; and learning tools and materials.

It is basically associated with over 470 top acedemic institutions in India to create an entrepreneurship friendly environment in the campus.

IMPACT OF NEN?

Since NEN started in 2003, it has accomplished the following:

A Fresh Start…Committee 2009

There came a new working year 2009-2010 for SPCE-SPIT and along with it came a newly elected committee for E-Cell all loaded with new ideas and an overt desire to make it an year memorable for all. Armed with these thoughts began the working of our committee.What we desired was a kickstart, something that would bring the e-cell in notice of all.

Let me tell you a bit about E-Cell.

The e-cell is a place of all the individuals who do not shy off from taking the path less trodden and believe in themselves to be a catalyst in change. In this e-cell we not only show you the different paths but also arm you to walk through it unscathed.What with the demanding schedules of engineering, how many of us actually think about the aftermath of being in the real world out there? How many of us know how the finances work out, the buiness plans, the advertising style? Today in the times of recession, when employees are given a pink slip, they consider entrepreneurship as the only means of living. But how many of you know that entrepreneurship is one 24/7 job. Not everyone is born with those skills that spell success. But that does not mean that you cant be successful. Its not the art of being at the right place at the right time but rather it is about being in a particular place at a particular time and making it right. Being an entrepreneur involves taking smart risks, timely decisions and being ready for the zillions of opportunities that we would otherwise ignore.

This is exactly the attitude what we at e-cell want you to have and if you dont have it we will make sure that you do.
