THE E-TALKIES

For all those who missed the movie we would definitely like you to watch the movie ..Watch it here..

Today was a great evening with all of the students and us, watching the movie “THE PIRATES OF THE SILICON VALLEY ” together. We showed them the movie in the seminar hall of SPCE( Sardar Patel College Of Engineering).

For all those who don’t know, this movie potrays the unethical practices( we are not claiming this, the movie shows that ) followed by the world’s software giants viz. Microsoft and Apple. It was not a straight documentary but a proper 2 hour movie with all the drama involved which ensured that all those who came to E-Talkies did not get bored as well as got some information.

And yes, for all those thinking how much we charged for it, let me inform you that it was completely free because funds is not what e-cell is aiming for. We want active participation of all the students in college.

Do watch it, even if you missed the theatrical experience, its worth a watch(Who would’nt want to know the story of the ‘dream’ companies you want placements in!!!! ;-) ).

AND THE WINNERS ARE……

The e-cell results are out….

At E-Cell, Every Member is a Winner

All the profits of all the teams given back to them( most of the teams had started wondering whether this money would go into the e-cell funds ;-) ). Each team who participated is a winner but like it is, there has to be a winner. Hence the results part of it

Finally after all the speculation, we gave out the results. A very fair and a proper marking scheme done by Sir Parag Mistry has resulted in no chaos between the participants which I must say is really commendable.

The winners are:

1.Team 6: Jiten Shah, Jimit Mehta, Simranjit, Prashant Patel, Yogesh Jadhav

This team had developed a software +sold the sub domains to everyone just at 20 rs. A complete value for money.

2. Pramod Ashok Burle, Amrit Shankar Kumbhar

This team sold 2nd hand books at just 60% of their cost price. They had borrowed the books from their friends and so they did not invest more than 50 bucks if you are thinking on those lines.

3.Team 7: Sneha Tiku, Iffat Bukhari, Ekta Gandhi

This team sold mouth watering and delicious chocolate balls made by them and also did tattoos for people at affordable prices.

Also a team got the upcoming entrepreneur award for this event for their sheer competence.

Well we would definitely like to tell you all about the marking scheme. The winners were decided not only on the basis of their profit percentage but the factors such as novelty of idea, whether it was ethical or not, does it have any scope for future expansion and the like.

We throw our hats off to all the winners. But yes, I would like to add that all the participants of 50 Rupees Venture are winners in their own right by the very experience that they gained which would definitely help them in some way or the other.

Not only this, this 50 Rupees Venture also gives them an edge over others because now they have overthrown their apprehensions of talking to strangers, starting up a completely new topic, becoming more forthcoming for new ideas, working in a group, doing ethical business(at least we hope so) and last but not the least earning a few bucks and being the eye of envy of their peer(just kidding!!!).

All those who have missed out on this venture need not be disappointed. There are many more events coming up. Be sure to be a part of them. We look forward for your participation and your development.
